Our Philanthropic Endeavors

“At the end of the day, it’s not about what you have or even what you’ve accomplished… it’s about who you’ve lifted up, who you’ve made better. It’s about what you’ve given back.” - Denzel Washington

Youth Outreach

A classroom filled with students wearing school uniforms, sitting at desks, and engaging in discussions or writing notebooks. Some students are standing and talking to each other, while others are seated and focused on their work. The classroom has yellow walls, wooden desks and chairs, and a large blackboard at the front.

Having grown up without mentorship or familial support, I had to navigate life's challenges on my own. This experience ignited my passion for helping youth worldwide. I am dedicated to supporting the next generation, aiming to cultivate heart-led young leaders and entrepreneurs.

Red Cross

A large indoor emergency shelter with multiple rows of cots and blankets. People are talking and socializing among the cots, and some are walking around. The shelter has high arched ceilings with bright lighting and large windows.

Leveraging my background as a lead fighter pilot instructor and my extensive commanding experience abroad, I have joined the Red Cross to serve communities across the United States. I contribute in various Group Activity Positions (GAP), providing critical support during emergencies.

As part of the Sheltering and Feeding GAP, I deploy nationwide to assist communities affected by disasters such as fires, tornadoes, and floods. I also participate in the Damage Assessment GAP, ensuring that individuals who have lost their homes receive the financial support they need. Locally, I am an active member of the Disaster Action Team, where I assist people facing emergency situations in our community.

Opera San Diego

Volunteering at the opera and serving as a supernumerary has been an intense and rewarding experience. Being behind the curtains and on stage offers a unique perspective on the opera's beauty. The logistics, planning, coordination, and precision involved make this experience exceptional. I have faithfully returned to the San Diego Opera since my first season in 2013. My favorite opera is Georges Bizet's Carmen, which I first experienced at age 16 in Switzerland. In 2019, I was honored to perform on stage with the San Diego Opera.

Community Service / Yoga Instructor

For over 15 years, I have led non-profit organizations, founding the Hanumanity Foundation and chairing the Sean O'Shea Foundation. Notable initiatives include "1,000 Smiles 4 Xmas," which provided gifts for homeless and underprivileged children. My mission is to empower youth to lead positive and purposeful lives.

Yoga helped me heal from 20 years of high G-force exposure, making me more present and mindful. As a yoga instructor, I have volunteered at Balboa Naval Medical Center, teaching over 1,000 wounded warriors and injured service members over five years.

Scripps Dog Therapy

Bodhi, one of the oldest therapy dogs at Scripps La Jolla, volunteered for over 10 years. Spending a few hours each week at the hospital brought joy and comfort to patients and nurses alike. This experience has taught me to cherish life as a precious gift. Bodhi passed away in 2022, but he served faithfully until the end of his life.
